"We've asked Moneyquest to handle all the Life Insurance queries we get from the public. We chose them because they're highly competitive and provide a high quality service. After all your experience will reflect on us - and we have our world-wide reputation to consider", says Charles Challiner spokesman for Lloyds Insurance Underwriting.

After you've got the quote, what happens next?

In order to obtain your quote, you only have to provide your date of birth, whether you smoke and your gender. From this very brief information, the insurance companies can work out your premium but this is subject to your health being OK, your blood family not having a history of ill health, your life style being generally healthy and you not having a dangerous job.

In order to check out all these additional aspects, you have to complete a detailed Application form. Moneyquest will assist you with this and it often only takes ten minutes or so on the phone. If you wish to complete it by yourself, Moneyquest will post the form to you.

It's important that when you're completing the Application Form, you need to answer every question carefully, fully and truthfully. Never be tempted to be "economical with the truth" or provide misleading answers. Unfortunately some people do, but the insurance company invariably finds them out if a claim is made. In some circumstances this can invalidate the claim.

If you're in a hurry for the insurance because, for example, it's needed to complete your mortgage, make sure you tell Moneyquest. They'll then fast track your case. Then, so long as your health etc is OK, you could have the insurance in place almost immediately.
