Premiums are usually paid by monthly direct debit to the Home and Contents Insurance Provider. This allows you to spread the annual cost of the insurance over the 12 months. Alternatively, most home insurance companies will allow you to pay yearly in advance should you wish to do so. Most companies will award you a small discount if you decide to pay annually in advance.

Please note that It is common to have a no claims period when you first take out a home insurance policy. Check the small print of the polciy to find out if this is the case for you.
